Mountain Democrat Article -- Wrap Up of Meeting

El Dorado County has announced a public meeting with the Department of Transportation and members of the Board of Supervisor about whether or not to resize the rocks in Little Sluice. Please come and state your opinion or have someone represent you. This is open to all members of the public and is only about Little Sluice. Friends of the Rubicon has a vested interest in this trail, all of it, and Little Sluice is a big issue so please wear your FOTR t-shirt and be there if you can.

II. Public Comment

MEETING FORMAT

Persons speaking as an individual shall have three minutes to make their comments

Persons speaking on behalf of a group, agency or organization shall have five minutes to make their comments.

Questions to facilitate discussion:

  1. Should Little Sluice be modified by decreasing the size of some boulders to allow for vehicle passage?
  2. Should Little Sluice be left alone and the existing bypass used for thru traffic?
  3. Should Little Sluice be returned to a historical use condition by filling in with aggregate material?
