For more than four decades, I’ve had the privilege of writing for national magazines, newspapers, national and regional organizational publications, books, conference proceedings, and websites covering wildlife conservation, four-wheel drive recreation, public land access, volunteerism, leadership, wildland fire, and responsible outdoor recreation.
Looking back through these publications is like looking through the history of our recreation. Some of these magazines have disappeared. Others have evolved into websites or digital publications. The principles, however, remain the same: education, stewardship, leadership, and passing our outdoor traditions on to the next generation.
