WHY I’VE TRUSTED BFG TIRES FOR 50 YEARS

BFGoodrich Tires supports Cal4 and CORVA

Thank You, BFGoodrich Tires — 50 Years of Trust and Trail Support

For more than 50 continuous years, I’ve trusted BFGoodrich Tires on every Jeep, truck, and trail rig I’ve owned. From the deserts of the Southwest to the granite of the Sierra Nevada, BFG has delivered the performance, durability, and traction that off-roaders count on. It’s a brand that has earned its reputation the hard way: mile after mile, trail after trail, 50 years of Baja 1000 races, and adventure after adventure.

But great tires are only part of the story.

BFG Gives Back to the Trails We Love

For decades, BFGoodrich Tires has been one of the strongest supporters of motorized recreation, public lands access, and responsible trail use. Their contributions go far beyond the products they sell.

BFG Outstanding Trails Program

One of their most impactful efforts has been the Outstanding Trails Program, which has provided grants to clubs and associations across the country. These grants help with:

  • Trail restoration & maintenance

  • Signage and education

  • Volunteer support

  • Keeping historic routes open

  • Stewardship projects that protect access for future generations

This program has been a lifeline for many clubs working to keep trails in good shape and open to the public.

BFG Outstanding Trails
One of the first and most significant donations to help the Rubicon Trail came from the BFG Outstanding Trails Program, Aug. 2007
NOTE: Efforts to save the Rubicon Trail started in 2001 with the Friends of the Rubicon (FOTR), followed by “officialdom” with the Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF) in 2004. In 2007, BFGoodrich Tires jumped in with both feet to help work projects and equipping volunteers with an enormous grant from the Outstanding Trails program of $4000.  In the picture above, from L to R, are Todd Ockert (FOTR), Joe Mazur (BFG), Del Albright (Trail Boss, FOTR) and Gary Enterline (BFG). This donation really upped the game for FOTR and RTF.

Supporting Cal4Wheel and CORVA

Every year, BFGoodrich donates tires to Cal4Wheel and CORVA, helping raise funds that directly support:

  • Trail defense

  • Landuse advocacy

  • Legal and legislative battles

  • Mapping and signage projects

  • Volunteer trail work

Their contributions make a real difference in keeping our sport alive and our trails open.

NOTES: The California Four Wheel Drive Association, Inc., since 1959, has actively promoted the advancement of vehicle oriented outdoor recreation.  Cal4wheel represents owners of all makes and models of 4WD vehicles, as well as non-owners who support responsible vehicle-oriented recreation.

The California Off-Road Vehicle Association (CORVA) advocates on behalf of their membership to promote, protect and preserve off-road recreation and motorized access on public lands throughout California for street legal and off highway registered vehicles such as ATV’s, motorcycles, 3-wheelers, trail bikes, and dune buggies, as well as 4X4 vehicles, dual sport motorcycles, Baja buggies, and desert racers.

Why Off-Roaders Choose BFGoodrich

BFG is famous for the very things we need most out there where the pavement ends:

  • Unmatched traction

  • Tough sidewalls

  • Legendary desert and rock performance

  • Reliability when you’re far from help

From the Mud-Terrain KM3 to the All-Terrain KO3, their tires have set the standard for decades.

Proud to Run Their Tires — And Proud of Their Commitment

It’s rare to find a company that builds a great product and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the off-road community. BFGoodrich does both, year after year.

To BFG: Thank you for supporting landuse, supporting clubs, keeping trails open, and backing the off-road community for decades.

Here’s to many more years of adventure on BFGs.
