Chuck Worley, Chairman of the Friends of Wilson Canyon, has demonstrated an on-going dedication to public land stewardship and the protection of recreation access to public lands.  Through Chuck’s leadership, the Friends of Wilson Canyon was established in 2003.  Since then, Friends of Wilson Canyon have contributed more than 800 hours of volunteer labor, and $12,000 worth of materials, tools and heavy equipment to install OHV management barriers (railroad ties and boulders) and informational signage in Wilson Canyon .

In a personal interview with Chuck, he makes it clear that this was a team effort and his "Friends" were what made it happen. Friends of Wilson Canyon is truly an example of making a difference in the management of our public lands.

Congratulations, Chuck and the Friends of Wilson Canyon.

Note: I take pride in the fact that the BlueRibbon Coalition and I helped form Friends of Wilson Canyon.  I gave them their first presence on the Internet, and several of us have guided Chuck throughout the formation process. But the bottom line is that it was Chuck and his crew that went to work on the ground and made this happen.

CONGRATS!!!
